Dr. Paul Paterson, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in hand and upper extremity care, performs ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release procedures.

In a recent study published in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery–Global Open journal, Dr. Paterson coauthored research on the outcomes of office-based carpal tunnel release procedures for over 500 patients.

The study found that the procedure allows for most patients to return to work within 2 to 4 days—a quicker recovery period compared to other carpal tunnel release techniques.
