Automatic Data Collection & Tracking Technology

What We Collect and Why

Like many modern websites, we use certain automatic data collection technologies—such as cookies, server logs, and web beacons—to understand how visitors interact with our website. This information helps us improve website functionality, optimize navigation, and enhance the services we offer online.

When you visit our website, we may collect limited technical information that does not, on its own, identify you as a patient, including but not limited to:

  • Device information (such as IP address, browser type, and operating system);
  • Website usage information (such as pages viewed, time spent on pages, and referring or exit pages); and
  • Approximate general location information (such as city or state derived from IP address).

We configure these tools, where reasonably possible, to limit the collection of identifying information and do not intentionally use website tracking technologies to collect sensitive health information. Visitors should not submit medical or insurance information through general website contact forms unless expressly instructed to do so.

How We Use and Share This Data

We may share aggregated and de-identified website usage data with third-party analytics providers to help us understand website traffic patterns and improve our online presence. Information shared for these purposes does not include direct personal identifiers such as your name, email address, telephone number, or medical information.

Distinction from Protected Health Information (PHI)

General website analytics information is separate and distinct from Protected Health Information (“PHI”) as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”).

PHI includes health information that you voluntarily provide to us through secure systems, such as our patient portal, electronic intake forms, appointment scheduling tools, or payment platforms. Our collection, use, and disclosure of PHI are governed exclusively by our Notice of Privacy Practices and applicable federal and state healthcare privacy laws.

We do not use or disclose PHI for marketing, advertising, or general website analytics purposes without a valid written authorization when required by law.
