Maria Pimenova, M.D., Ph.D.

Maria Pimenova, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified internal medicine physician specializing in comprehensive primary care at Vero Orthopaedics. Dr. Pimenova brings extensive clinical experience to her practice, delivering patient-centered care focused on preventive wellness, acute condition management, and long-term health coordination. Working alongside the multi-specialty medical team at Vero Orthopaedics, she helps patients manage their total health so they can stay active and independent.

Dr. Pimenova earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University in Moscow, Russia. She continued her advanced academic training by earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the National Research Center for Hematology in Moscow, where she conducted extensive research into cytogenetics and cellular health. Dr. Pimenova then completed her internal medicine residency at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

Before joining Vero Orthopedics, Dr. Pimenova provided outpatient primary care in Aiken, South Carolina, and cared for patients locally in Vero Beach at Indian River Primary Care. Her background in both complex clinical research and community medicine gives her a thorough, educational approach to patient care. Dr. Pimenova takes the time to listen to each patient, explain diagnoses in plain language, and design care plans tailored to individual health goals.

Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Pimenova values spending time with her family and staying active. During the warmer months, she enjoys hiking and biking, and she travels for alpine skiing during the winter. She also expresses her appreciation for the arts by playing the piano and dancing ballet. While traveling, Dr. Pimenova enjoys touring museums, attending the theater, and experiencing local culinary traditions.
