Board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity doctor Dr. Paul Paterson has done extensive work with ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release procedures.

Recently, Dr. Paterson coauthored a study on 6-month outcomes for office-based carpal tunnel release procedures. The study on the safety and effectiveness was published in the Journal of Hand Surgery Global Online.

The study concluded that the procedure “is well tolerated with a low complication rate and associated with rapid recovery, sustained improvement in symptoms and function, and high procedure satisfaction.”
